I am blown away by these editorials. The prints appears to come alive, the color contrast is so stunning. It's hard to take my eyes off these images. I love how the effect is done without looking tacky and cheap, but more electrifying and exciting!

Inspirations from Highschool portfolio
My Name Inspiration:
I am using my closest friends name for each flat and design. This way it is more meaningful.
Friendship is really a huge value for me, therefore this will be a fun way to express my beliefs as well.

Bird Print Inspirations
For my print inspirations, I focused mainly on birds. Whether it was the feathers, the whole figure of the bird or the movement the birds flew, I was definitely inspired. I am focusing on birds and nature as a concept for my prints and placement.

Color Palette
Color Palette Inspirations: Parrot
For my color palette, I have chosen Parrot as my inspirations. I was intrigued by the diverse bright colors, something I wanted to push myself into. I always stick to neutral colors, mostly based on complimenting black or white. Therefore I wanted to try something new, something overly bright. This however was a tricky decision, because bright colors can come of tacky. But it's something I am willingly to experiment, whether I regret or not. Only this way I can learn, right?
My Final Collection: Decade 20's
This is my final collection for the decade 20's. I feel as if I did better on my edits than the final collection, as I used colors. However that was not the part of assignment, therefore I had to eliminate my colors and stick with just pure white. I struggled a lot with drawing the faces and hair, which is the part I enjoyed the least. I need more practices in those area!
Brainstorming: Color Inspirations
I started of brainstorming with my favorite colors, which are electric blue and sometimes soft pink. However I have learned that creating a customer based color palette, it must be diverse in colors. Therefore there are more varieties of choices for the consumers, in the circumstance if they don't like blue or pink at all.

These two are my favorite images of women in 1920's. These groups are ladies appear to know how to have a great time together, being liberal, being free and being women. I am inspired by their clothing, as they appear comfortable, full of volume, free spirited and stylish. Although for todays younger generation, the clothing will become more modernize with short length or a more exposure top, playing with different length but remaining the comfort and confidence of a 1920's woman.
Christian Siriano Spring/Summer 2012
I have completely fallen in love with this collection. It is so effortless and inspiring with his use in mixture of casual and night gown look. The use of texture and colors (inspired from colors) blend so perfectly together. The designer mentioned his previous fall collection was more dark, therefore he wanted to change direction and create a brighter collection. I could imagine myself wearing almost everything in this collection.

Finished Look
This is the finished look, where I used two different types of paper (pattern and tracing paper). I enjoyed playing with the contrast of hard and soft paper, different made a difference on the roughness of each fold. I made the dress into an ankle length, inspired by the 1920's design. Yet to make it appeal more modernized, I created a folded sweetheart corset with scoop back.
Drapping
These are the details of the drapping I did for my 3D Class, inspired by the 1920s and the modern version I have created of 1920's. It is still in the process, where I started of working on the details of the sweet heart cut, using pins I created certain folds and pattern. I also wanted to create a sexy scoop back, therefore used the same technique of folding from the front in the back.

Donna Karan Fall 2011
Photographer: Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin
I am all about women empowerment and this ad by Donna Karan clearly outspoken my passion. The clothes, the model, the setting all portrays a strong and powerful woman from inside and out.
This is what the industry needs to speak out, especially in my part as I am a female myself.
From Donna's Journal she quotes: "This is a woman who is full of ideas and speaks with conviction."
The moment I saw this ad, I fell in love with the model. Her name is Isabeli Fontana. I was drawn especially by her eyes, it showed commitment in style and passion.
Summer Assignment - 1920's (the process)
These were my 20 designs for the decades I chose '1920's'. I was mainly inspired by the glamour flapper looks, oversized blazers/jackets, stripes and masculine format.
I stuck to a set of colors I grouped which were black, white, different shades of brown, pink and blue. This way it felt more of a collection, rather then having multiple colors used all over the designs.
Mood broad made based on my inspirations from 1920's.

Kiss me, Kate - VOGUE September Issue
This is truly a magical month for Vogue, as legend super model Kate Moss gets married to Jamie Hince.
I am in awe with this issue, not only is Moss one of my all time favorite model, I am blown away by this beautiful dress made by Galliano.
This dress reminds me of the 1920's meticulously detailed beading with effortless sheer look.
Clearly Galliano have proved the fashion world a big come back, after the Christian Dior incident.
